Bio

Bruce Newman MD is a respected and accomplished ophthalmologist with over 40 years of experience in the field of eye care.

Bruce Newman, M.D., has been a board-certified ophthalmologist since 1985, dedicated to improving the vision and lives of his patients through expertise. Over his career, he has performed numerous of successful cataract, glaucoma, refractive, and cosmetic surgeries. Former patients still thank him to this day for the gift of sight they received.

Dr. Newman began his distinguished career in 1983 as the Medical Director of the Ophthalmology Department at Bryan Medical Group in Ohio and served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Ohio Ophthalmology Department. He was recruited to Phoenix, Arizona to become the Medical Director for the Omni-Medivision Eye Center from 1989  to 1991. Throughout this period, Dr. Newman was involved with teaching Ophthalmology & Optometry residents.

In 1991, he founded the Newman Eye Center, where he provided exceptional eye care for 35  years, improving the vision of countless patients in the central North Phoenix and surrounding areas. Dr. Newman built a practice  for its commitment to progressive treatments and a patient centered philosophy that made everyone feel like family. Under his leadership, the center became a go-to destination for individuals seeking expert care for a wide range of eye conditions, from routine vision exams to complex surgical procedures. 

Dr. Newman was named one of the LaserVision® Top 100 Surgeons for his excellence in refractive surgery in 2005.

Known for his meticulous attention to detail, Dr. Newman continues to customize each treatment or procedure to match the specific needs of his patients creating optimal outcomes. Patients have more choices than ever for their procedures, and Dr. Newman is more than happy to help them in this important decision-making process. His commitment to continuing education keeps him at the forefront of ophthalmology. He regularly attends the meetings of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, ASCRS, Phoenix and Arizona Societies  to stay current with the latest advancements.

His mission has always been dedicated to providing the highest quality eye care in a professional, caring, and cost-effective manner. The practice's goals have been vision correction, restoration, and sight preservation.
